| hi tech geniuses! the bushings on my '95 turbo (62K miles; nearly all stock) are deteriorated and leaking, so looks like i need to replace either the tension rods or the bushings. from a bunch of forum postings it seems that polyurethane bushings are superior to putting in another set of OEM tension rods (which will just fail again eventually anyhow), and cheaper as well. my mechanic is quoting me $90 a pop for AST Polyurethane Radius Rod Bushings (they're a little cheaper online... about $70). my question: is that a good choice, and how do they differ from all the bushings i see online that are closer to $100/pair? i drive spiritedly but don't do autocross/track stuff (...yet). also: is an alignment necessary after replacing the bushings? thanks for your help! pretty new to all this tech stuff.
